DSS Foils Attempt To Bomb US, UK Embassies In Abuja, Busts ISIS-linked Boko Haram Ring

The Department of State Services (DSS) has foiled a plot by Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS)-linked Boko Haram elements to attack the United States embassy, the United Kingdom High Commission, as well as other western interests in Abuja.

 

The DSS says that its sustained onslaught against extremist elements and groups has drastically reduced their potency.

It security agency claims those arrested between March 25 and 26, belong to a ring of ISIS-linked Boko Haram members based in Benue State and the FCT.

 

The statement further states that the group had perfected plans to attack the UK and American Embassies and other western interests in Abuja.

 

Meanwhile, it was stated that during the operation to thwart the plan of the terrorists, five key suspects, namely: Isa Jibril, Jibril Jibril, Abu Omale Jibril, Halidu Sule and Amhodu Salifu, were arrested.

 

“Earlier, on March 22, at Fika, Yobe State, a 20-yearold Boko Haram member, Adamu Datti, was arrested. He confessed his involvement in executing the sinister activities of the group, “the DSS said.
