The already festive mood of the Global Champions Ministries International in Okota, Lagos was on Sunday the 26th of February, 2017 heightened by the presence of Nollywood stars, amongst who were Uche Elendu, Oge Okoye, Ejiro Okurame, Benedict Johnson, Mary Ogbonna, Anita Joseph and Sam Sunny.
They storm Apostle Ogorchi’s cathedral to witness the premiere of Uche’s latest flick, ‘The Altar’.
The movie stars the likes of Benedict Johnson, E’Davids, Uche Ogbodo, McShakara, Frank Uche, Mary Ogbonna, Doris Ogala, Kenneth Akalusi, Nelly Vidigal and Delphine Walter.
The story-line of ‘The Altar’ is woven around the calling and challenges a young pastor, and the troubles his family faced while doing the work he was consecrated for. However, his steadfastness in the face of mounting trials and tribulation made his God to remember him at the end of the day.
In an exclusive interview with the Editor, Bobnews.com, Emmanuel Omene-Johnson, the producer, Uche Elendu said, “My motive for doing the movie, The Altar came out of my zeal to do something for God. That is to bring people closer to God. I haven’t done anything for God before now. I don’t presently have the money to build a church for God. But I felt it would be nice using my God –given talent to spread the Gospel. This is another way of letting people understand that God is there and is present in every of our situations.”
On the prospect of marketing gospel films like ‘The Altar’ in Nigeria, Uche was optimistic, “That doesn’t deter me from my faith. This is because I didn’t do it for the sake of making money. I did it to help spread the gospel of Christ Jesus. That is the sole reason I am taking it to the churches where every Christian child can get a copy to watch.”
“I will get back my money by the grace of God, “she added, “I’m convinced of that because most men of God that have seen the movie are already interested in it. They are sowing into it and have agreed to take it to their churches so that their members can partake in the blessings to be derived from watching the movie.”
The daughter of Apostle Ogorchi, Tender also used the occasion to mark her birthday. She is 2-years old.
